Life is calming down finally, so time for some updates.

Went to E3 last week with the Armor Games team. Above I am checking out some 3D gaming with Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3, and managing to look like something of a dork. Favourite thing I saw at the conference was the 3DS… pretty awesome stuff.
I move into a new office last week and decided to make my workspace something comfortable and fun to be in, here’s what I came up with:

Lounge chair, green carpet, and a giant reel of paper to do designs and sketches on. I’m loving it so far.

Bytejacker, an indie/digital-distro gaming vlog of sorts, ran an interview for what I do, what I have been doing, and what I plan to do. Go take a look!

Not following me on Twitter? Shame on you (or good for you!). You have failed to learn that the name of the new Emu game is called Timemu. See what I did there? You are an Emu off on an adventure through distorted landscapes of pistons and trees in timescrubbing fashion. Tired of platformers yet? I’M NOT.

Remember Exit Path? It’s been doing extremely well. I’ve tracked at least 300 million experience points given out over the course of the past few weeks (and let’s not even begin to talk about kudos). I love simple concepts and I’m glad others agree.
Had an interview with a local magazine/paper recently, I’ll post links and images once they publish. I got to talk to interesting people in return for my time (I’m looking at YOU Megan and John!).
And just because it’s been a while, I’ll leave on this picture of Bagel, our cat:

The Armor Games office decided to visit E3 today, and it was a whole lot of fun.
We arrived around 7:30 am so that we could check in early and get some food. The entrance hall was a surprisingly empty.
We picked up our badges and went to breakfast at this amazing diner called Cafe Pantry. It hasn’t closed since the 1920′s, and even notes that they don’t have locks on their doors since they have no reason to close! I got a complete breakfast with coffee for less $5.
Afterwards we went to the E3 showfloor and played with all the new Wii games. Our favourites included the new Tiger Woods Golf 10 and Wii Sports Resort. And of course, the New Super Mario Bros Wii is a really fun little title.
After a few more booths and presentations about the newest games we went to the PS3 area, where I got to play with the PSP Go. It was a few minutes to get in, but it was worth it to check it out. My overall impressions: love the size and form factor but my fingers wrap funny around the shoulder L and R buttons. Could just be me, but it’s slightly small to conform to. Otherwise, cute little device.
We played Uncharted 2 multiplayer and Mag in the multiplayer area, and then headed over to the other halls to meet some other developers (Starogre, artist for Closure). We also got a chance over here to play the newest Halo game, Halo 3 ODST. And let me tell you, it’s a LOT OF FUN. Worth the long wait to see and play it, the game just plays wonderfully and seems to offer a very polished experience (even without Master Chief).
After a few more Wii games, we were out! It was a totally fun day. I had a lot of fun and I can’t wait for all these games to really come out.
If you want to check out the other 77 pictures check out the flickr album.

Just one of those days.
Had an interesting day, building UI for Joey’s new game. Will go back to Hedgehog Launch 2 production later. Ended the day rather abruptly, lots going on. I’m feeling very, very soar from the long car ride I had this weekend (I drove 950 miles this weekend) and I’m feeling like my body will be permanently stuck in this position.
The E3 announcements were just about the most exciting thing that happened today. The announcement of Crackdown 2 is an especially important one, and I can’t wait to see and play the games at E3 on Wednesday. Very, very close to getting to E3 once more!
Going to try to get back in the swing of things. My body needs some relaxation

Hey, remember 2006? That was a fun year! That was the first time I went to E3, and was the last time too. After that they killed off the “everyone in the industry can come!” policy and it made me frown!
My hair sucked and I was skinny. I played the Wii and the PS3 for the first time ever! I even saw Paris Hilton and 50 cent, perfect for opportunities such as name dropping in a blog! And it was the first time I met Dan, my boss and head honcho at Armor Games.
Fast-foward to now, I just got my E3 2009 approval email saying that I’m in the video game industry so I get in for free! I am really excited, there’s going to be a ton of things to look forward to… I think. At least it’s an opportunity to get on the floor and see what all the amazing video game companies are coming up with in terms of new technology, gameplay, and concept! I missed the past two years but this year I’m totally going to the big show.
Drop me a post if you plan on going!
Oh, and if you chose any food item for the previous quiz question you get those 5 points. Congrats!
