Sort of. Still adjusting to leaving at 10 A.M. from Sydney and somehow magically, 13 hours later, arriving at 6 A.M. the same day in Los Angeles.
Had a lot of fun, honeymoon definitely deserves its own post as well as some forward looking posts about future games and such, but for now I am going to enjoy my home once again. And Muffin and Bagel, my very happy-to-see cats.

And I almost killed an Echidna with my car, running over it between my wheels as I was driving. Carlie will never forgive me.

Forgive me, Australia. I have tried your nectar from the Heavens and I have been disheveled by the taste. Vegemite, a yeast-extract based concoction had promise. It looks like its brother Nutella, which I agree is absolutely divine. It spreads like peanut butter. It looks like chocolate. Nonetheless, your Vegemite was, well, odd.

I don’t think I’ll ever eat it again.

What a busy week it’s been! I’ve hardly had enough time to check the Blog comments, let alone write any new content!
Last weekend I visited Davis and Napa to visit family and Carlie. It was a great weekend, I enjoyed the festivities. I did some food tasting for the big event coming up, and it looks like we found a caterer.
On Monday I started my new project, codename “Traffic” for now, which is a whole lot about moving cars through intersections. In my own life I experience a lot of red lights (literally, not metaphorically). I hate them. Not only do I hit every red light on my way to work but sometimes I get stuck behind someone slow and then can’t make it through a green light! So in my frustration I am making a game about traffic lights, and in the game you get to play the role of a traffic light switcher to alleviate congestion on major roads. It’s fun so far, especially when cars are sent through the same intersection at the same time.
On Thursday last week Joey and I launched our “Bunkers” project, which we eventually named Fox Fyre. It is now available here on this website. It’s a strategy game, not a “oh hey set your angle and fire” game which makes the gameplay a bit different. Many of these games are just trial and error but we really wanted to make the experience real-time and strategic. So there you go, enjoy! It’s been a long project (nearly 9,000 lines of code), so we’re glad to see it out and about. It’s done fairly well across the web. Some complaints about difficulty, but it’s been really mixed! I think it’s because some people are just really good at building strategies and getting good combos…. others not so much.
Tonight I am booking my hotels for my trip to Australia. I’m getting excited about the places I’m staying. One of the places I’m (hopefully) staying at is a treehouse, so my childhood fantasies will finally be realized.
As for last post, if your favourite ice cream was Strawberry, congratulations! You get two points. If your favourite ice cream was anything else, you get 1 point.

Hi gang,
I didn’t really have a good photo to post so I posted a photo of the spider I saw at the office on Friday. Enjoy.
This weekend Carlie is in town for planning for our vacation in Australia and to relax from her thesis paper writing (it’s on some topic I can’t explain or understand). We booked our airfare (FINALLY) for Australia and we’ll be going there for a couple weeks in September! Tastylamp and Bananawithjoy were nice enough to help me out with my driving queries, apparently they drive on the WRONG side of the road, with the steering wheel on the WRONG side of the car.
On Friday we went to an Anaheim Ducks game (hockey) and we had a lovely time watching the Ducks (albeit lose) to the Stars. We had lovely seats thanks to my coworker Larry and his connections, so we sat pretty close to the ice. My iPhone managed to capture the moment.

Tonight we’re cooking a great meal and watching LOST. Take care!

Sorry for the delay in update. I’ve been traveling for the past few days and it’s been terribly busy around here.
Just got back from Northern California to visit Carlie. We’re currently planning a trip to Australia towards the beginning of Fall and it’s getting terribly exciting. I’ll probably be visiting for a couple weeks in Queensland and Sydney. Things to do there include scuba diving and rainforest excursions, two things I really, really love doing (well, at least the scuba part, haven’t done the rainforest thing yet). I haven’t left the country much so it’s going to be a great trip.
While Carlie is quite convinced that we don’t need to see the giant Mary Poppins statue I’m thinking otherwise.
