Grid Bending

I am in the middle of making cute AS3/OOP things.

This was a small test at home to make a two-dimensional grid attract to a point.  There are roughly 625 points here that all warp and bend to their grid positions.  It runs certainly slow due to all the drawing but I’ll be playing around more with this grid idea in the future.

    since its just a test, that must be the reason why it consistently restarts

    this is so cool, it runs perfectly with me
    no slow downs.

    i keep thinking that this is a wireframe, so maybe u could make a monster using these wires.

    mmm that would be such an epic boss battle

    I don’t like how it restarts but it would be good to have a restart button instead of constantly restarting.

    Right click and zoom in twice! It gives a nice effect!

    If you’re using FP10, using Graphics.drawPath() will greatly speed up the drawing :)

    Cool, like it! If each grid-square could be assigned a square of a photo and distorted along with it’s grid-square that may create an even more interesting effect!

    Right click and put it on low quality, it makes the effect diffrent

    I’ve noticed that the lower the quality, the faster it resets.

    This looks cool. Could you make the grid come back in on itself to look like a 3d ball, ir indeed any shape you wish. With some clever animation you could make it look like full 3d rendered scenes (well very gridlike ones anyway).

    I was thinking about doing something kind of like bending a grid for a shooter, but alas, I suck at game making.

    this is quite a good thing. u should make it into some sort of profile. facebook or summat like that, and someone will innocently run their mouse over it and BOOM! It will blow their mind.

    It restarts because it’s constantly changing, that’s part of the experiment.

    If you look at the colours, they’re different every time it restarts, which make it useful for games.

    For instance, if a spell was cast on you that poisoned you, this would change the graphic colours extremely quickly.

    This is awesome! I think that it would be better if it did not restart (having a button that you could set for how long it would take to reset or set it to not reset at all would be good) and if there were some other things you could mess around with like an explosion or a player or something.
