April Fools!

Gotcha! Well, maybe. The site came decked out yesterday in blues and grays, with the announcement that jmtb02 Studios was going to be sold to Dicko from BDS Flash. You can view the news post before this one for more information. Even funnier was the contribution of Dicko’s news post and image. The hoax even managed to get on a megalist of April Fools Jokes compiled for this year. Well, jmtb02 Studios is still owned by me, I’ll still be making games, and yes, Dicko is quite capable of drawing a ball. Back to Flash :) .

BDS Flash Takes Over Jmtb02 Studios

Hi everyone,This is John, telling everyone that today the merger of jmtb02 Studios and BDS Flash will result in the total acquisition of jmtb02 Studios into forum user “Dicko” (BDSFLASH.COM).The Ball Revamped, Four Second, Scribble!, and Parachute Retro series will be handed off to the young developer, with hopes that he will continue his reign as a Flash developer and provide the world quality that we can only assume is as grand as the little impact I had.In addition, Dicko will be taking on the entire production of Ball Revamped 5, and will reap all the benefits therein. I will mostly be there for drawing the ball, which Dicko and I have experienced is incredibly difficult to do.We also decided that Red Pt 2 will be skipped, due to its long production time. Thus, we will be skipping directly to Red Pt 3, to avoid the mess of making Pt 2. You will just have to use your imagination to figure out what went there!Alas, it will be sad departing this briefly from my studios. Hopefully you’ll continue the games and animations I have created on this site!-John

jmtb02 Studios Update

First, a plug. Kongregate.com has given awards out for Dark Cut in the past, but has recently awarded prizes for Four Second Frenzy, Ball Revamped 4, and some other games. Thanks Kongregate! Kongregate is a site where you can upload your games and play other people’s games, all in a fun, small community. Vote on submissions and support the Flash community, it doesn’t cost money either (yeah!). So head over to Kongregate, sign up, and vote on some games. Kongregate.comSecondly, some site news. Ellipsis got Dugg by Digg.com the other day, and the site took a bit of a beating but survived the wave. Thanks Digg for the traffic, much appreciated. Also, jmtb02 Studios is getting ready to roll out a new website to join Flashwiki.net and jmtb02.com. Exciting!Knights of Rock, although not my most popular game of all time, has made a good splash on the web. Being featured on several websites, including Newgrounds and Hall Pass, the game did quite well for being so zany and ridiculous in nature. Cheers to the support!Ball Revamped has been falling behind in production. I’ve had a sudden rush of creativity I don’t feel like shelving, and will be focusing more on those new games then the sequel for now. I know I’ll put my heart and soul into Ball Revamped 5 and roll that out when it’s ready. But for now, I have about 2-3 games lined up that are going to be fun and exciting. I know this will be disappointing for many, but I feel like Ball Revamped is always THAT project that I need to do right and not rush to get done. I am not going to announce any release dates yet, but we are looking at most around 4-5 months pushed back (at most!). You know how I am with deadlines… blah.So coming up, a game I have deemed 5’til. The game revolves around the infiltration of an evil organization, and requires several 30 second minigames to get there. 30 Second Frenzy so to speak. it’s a lot of fun for me, I think you’ll enjoy it.

Too Many Facelifts

Everytime I turn around, this website looks different. Time for an explanation. This website is really only about a year or so old. But so far, its gone through about 5 different designs. Truly, I have really wanted to change the site design once, but due to technology failing, it hasn’t been that way. Here are a few examples of what has happened…1) Bandwidth caused site to be taken down x22) Hard drive crash lost website contents3) Xoops site experienced massive problems4) Drupal site killed for CPU cycles allowed by hostSo it’s really not my fault, I promise. Everytime I need something new for the site, or just need to keep the site going, it gets changed. Really, I don’t mean for it to happen. Also, I have changed hosts so many times.Geocities > Brinkster > Phpwebhosting > APlus.net > GodaddyAnd, I have changed ad clients a few times. Either way, its been a rocky road for this website. Lost news, information, comments, uploads, forum crashes… it’s been keeping this website up a living hell. And so, I have created one final design. If this one doesn’t keep me happy for at least a year, I’ll hire someone to make me a functional website. It’s really getting depressing. The new website is an entire single page. This way, everything is kept extremely simple. To launch a game, just click an image on the right and it will pop up. To read the news, just read it! And to comment, just click the comment link. What I love is going back to the cutenews system. It works extremely well, and is easy to manage. I am also happy with the ability to see the news at the top of the page. While I have many regrets for changing the website again, I am glad maybe we have a final functional version. Cross your fingers, and get ready for some more Flash.-jmtb02
