Lots of website changes today.
jmtb02.com has been 728 pixels wide nearly since the beginning. But due to the ever-increasing width of Flash games the site has expanded to nearly 900px wide. When I first started making games everyone was making them around 550px wide (the default for Flash). But now that things keep getting wider and wider (the most recent was 800px wide!) the site needed to change with it. It also means I’ll have to type a lot more to make it seem like I’m writing more.
Games since January have (finally) been posted! Timemu, Exit Path, This is the Only Level 2, and others can be found in the Game Section. Finally got something rolling.
For the forums, I think we need to start fresh. Not a bad thing (it means we can finally not have a five-year old forum) but it’s disheartening when things break and post counts get nuked. I am currently working on a rewrite of the forum architecture so people can post stuff about… things.

I’m probably the only one here that doesn’t like the idea of starting completely new. If the posts can be retained, then I won’t actually mind the change.

I’m glad the forums are being wiped and rewritten. I have never really liked the look of the forums and always thought they could use a faster back end as well.
Perhaps you can integrate stat-tracking with the ArmorGames API for Exit Path and future multiplayer titles?

About the widescreen, it looks way better, but the links at the top now don’t take up the whole width…

Any idea what happened to the forums?
I don’t mind starting fresh, I’m just glad I saved my avatar from destruction at the hands of no backups only a few days before the site went down completely.
It would be nice if the threads were archived somewhere, but if not, that’s no problem. The forums needed an update anyway.
What crash number is this? Is it the second one, or third?

it’s way more than the third, I believe.
maybe not more than 3 wipes, but the forums went through a phase of crashing a lot way back when.

I don’t mind starting the forums over, heck I’d be fine with an entire wipe of the posts. Whatever works fine really, glad to see that the forums will be coming back.

This is a bit off topic BUT, With the release of your emu game, I was wondering, Have you even seen an emu before? Like, with your own VERY eyes? I did once, I live in australia and it pecked my hand when I offered it some seeds. It pecks like a chicken but only about 1000 times harder, ouch.

I passed Punisher a long time ago. The only thing I cared about my post count for was for the “post up for grabs” thread.
It’s the posts themselves that I really care about.

It would be nice to have at least a backup of the old posts, it just feels bad to throw away all those posts.
