Look, an entire holiday for planet Earth! I’ll do some extra Earth-y things today.
As an only slightly related sidenote, I realized today that the big promo for “Avatar movie on DVD, coming Earth Day!” is a bit off. Avatar has nothing to do with planet Earth and everything to do with planet Pandora, and clearly it isn’t Pandora day today. Like releasing a Christmas movie on Valentines Day.
Anyways.
What better way than to help the environment than running, not driving! Here’s a recent shot from Exit-Path, my new running/racing/obstacle game. Yum yum UI.
Uniplayer? What the hell does that mean? Oh yes, it means you are playing the non-multiplayer version of the game. “Single Player” seems too cumbersome of a term. Two words? PLEASE. We’re trying to save the world here, not waste precious pixels and electricity displaying two words. Let’s get it down to one word, Uniplayer.
Here we are running. I hate reading long cumbersome instructions so most in this game come in tiny chunks of help. WASD to move (or Arrow Keys work). Did you ever notice that two of my games say the jump key is the D key? I still punch myself over that typo, made worse being committed twice! Oh, and don’t be fooled by the level name… it’s not “The Apocalypse” as listed… hopefully.
You want to be in the beta? SOON MAYBE.
AND speaking of trees (I was talking about trees right?), I went back to Joshua Tree National Park again this year, this time dragging Carlie along for the ride. PICTURES:
Look how goofy I’m standing in this picture, I can’t get over it. I propped a camera on a sign nearby. I hate asking people to take pictures for me so I instead prop my camera on rocks and other tall objects and hope no one comes by to ask to take a picture.
VROOOOOOOOOM is what it sounds like if you had really small ears and were taking off from this burned down Joshua Tree.
We found these little chipmunks while eating by some giant rocks. They really know how to work people for food.
If you want more pictures click here.
Happy Earth Day! Take care.

It’s been long since my last update since I thought I would bullet note life updates.
• Exit Path is still in production. Single player is wrapping up this week, followed by beta next week (I will post the sign-up form shortly). Today I got the first two of five stages done, the next two days will be finishing up the other stages.
• I have two side games I’m building compositions for. More on that later.
• I signed up for the half-marathon in Anaheim again. Time to go running again! Carlie has decided to join me this time. Starts in September so I have plenty of time. The full marathon is starting to looking awesome too.
• In the process of separating two drinking glasses I split my finger clear open in three places as the glass shattered. I had the bandage, alcohol, and clean it up, it was pretty nasty. My thumb has been out of operation most of today, I’ve been learning how to deal with that. The wounds are fairly awesome.
• I beat Pokemon HeartGold this week, but I’m working on the Kanto side of things now. I love Pokemon games, best jRPG’s ever.
• I am packing, because in a month I’m moving again. Never ends, does it?
• I’m looking for a new cell phone, any suggestions?
That’s it for now, I’ll try to keep the updates flowing a bit more readily.

I’ve spent a lot of time on this project, so I have decided to add a few screenshots of the game I’ve been working on, Exit Path (all the same backgrounds so far, background art will be done tomorrow). The game currently features a character that wears a pink flower on its head, but don’t worry, you can change the design of your character a bit.
Exit Path is one part survival, one part racing.
Exhibit A: Running Fast
Exhibit B: Hopping Between Platforms
Exhibit C: Rewinding? Of course!
And of course, there will be multiplayer once I figure all that out.
I also have another game I’m starting to incubate that will be a smaller project. I can’t decide what it will be called, but it involves management. I’ll need to really nail down the logistics before divulging anything else.

Yesterday the website went pink for April Fools. The first of April is a time-honoured tradition on this website, last year announcing the First Annual Elephant Game Conference and the previous year announcing Light Cut. It took me a while to get the butterphant drawn.
And as always, thanks for visiting! Hope you weren’t really fooled.
