And a fun game too. The 200w width does make it a tad hard to dodge, but overall, it really isn’t as hard as you make it out to…*clicks on “Expert Mode”*
WHAT THE…?!?!

Expert mode is the bomb. Because you explode a lot.
Chaoz Airflow!

I had a bad day. This game cheered me up.

I beat this with no deaths on Normal mode.
Expert however..
July 11th, 2009 at 6:53 am
Took me 8 deaths.
July 11th, 2009 at 8:25 am
Great game! Now, I must beat expert mode with 0 deaths!

Awesome game!

elpenguino was right…
“the giraffe just STRETCHES.”
July 11th, 2009 at 10:39 am
I can’t finish it on Normal. I am a failure.
July 11th, 2009 at 12:01 pm
Me neither. I FAIL!!
July 11th, 2009 at 12:23 pm
Interesting… you sped up Chaoz Airflow in this game.

Eh, the game suffers from an awkward hitbox (which I still haven’t entirely figured out), slippery controls, and not enough room to dodge. Plus, I shouldn’t have such low framerates from a flash game… my computer’s only 3-4 years old. No option to turn the background off or lower the detail is a bit of an issue.
Normal mode’s ok, I guess, though a bit easy. No deaths on my first try. >_>
Expert mode is everything that a game like this should NOT be. Randomly seeded patterns are a bad idea at this intensity, since you’ll frequently get a random undodgable mess of missiles. This mode feels like it was put in for the sheer purpose of getting us to waste an hour on this game. I stopped after about 300 straight deaths to Omega Walrus pt. 2, most of which happened within one second of restart.
On the plus side, I liked the music you chose, and the story was as lolrandom as it always is with you.
On the wtf side, why are you obsessed with launching random animals into space?
Overall, I’ll give this a 4/10, because I think you can do a lot better. :/

On a side note, I managed to get Chaoz Airflow and surprisingly, i altered the speed (pitch + tempo) in audacity and i got it BANG ON. It sounds awesome.
And I’ve almost got the hang of Expert mode now! Only 2 deaths!

I’d like to see more games with animals launched into space. maybe a walrus prequel for this
July 12th, 2009 at 12:36 am
after 8 deaths i FINALLY defeated omega walrus.
b.t.w jmbt02 seem to have a addiction to launch animals into space. do you think he is alright?
July 12th, 2009 at 12:38 am
edit
I’m beginning to question his sanity. however, he does make awesome games. so maybe he should stay a bit crazy XD

Meh, expert mode isn’t that hard either, except on Walrus part 2. I was having a quite-a-good-record of 3 deaths… until I got to the boss. I still haven’t won the game in that mode.

Omega Walrus? I think he’s from Canada, judging by the flag. If everyone is right about having a walrus prequel, it better involve cheap meds.
Hey! There is an idea! Re-introduce the shop and sell cheap meds! Meh, just kidding.

why is every1 being so critical!??! its just a really fun lil game and we should thank john for making such clever and original games!!!
p.s i have followed this website since about 2004 and jmtb is AWESOME

Uhm, if that was an attempt to be a Canada flag, that was pretty bad… The stripes are on the left and the right, not the top and bottom.
July 16th, 2009 at 7:19 pm
I wholeheartedly disagree with you, jmtb
I think this game was FAR easier than Run Elephant Run
It took me 200 deaths to beat Run Elephant Run, and each phase was disturbingly frustrating
For this game, I got to Walrus 2 in 45 deaths, then tacked on another 100 deaths until I finally beat him. Getting to him was pretty fun and not hard at all, taking like 5-10 tries per phase….he was really annoying, but if you just focus on avoiding the red beams, you will live.

So far, all the games john has made about animals so far included any of my favorite animals… (llama, giraffe, elephant…) he seems to like the same animals that I do… that’s pretty weird in a coincidental way.
July 20th, 2009 at 7:20 pm
This game is worse than Run Elephant Run, even with the better premise.

Graphics were great, premise was pretty amusing, gameplay on expert was none of these things. I agree with Spooty on the random patterns being just plain stupid given the sheer amount of missiles being fired. Took me 152 deaths to win. I wouldn’t call this your hardest game, simply because winning it on expert requires too much luck as opposed to skill. :/
