Holy crap, you say! It’s Fourth of July and you are celebrating this guy?! Of course. It’s Roo! Roo Day shares a bit of the festivities of the day. There’s no rule to holiday overlap, at least according to my research.
Previous years of Roo day left ambiguity and people questioning who the hell is Roo. This year, however, the FIFTH year since the conception of Roo Day, I will explain everything!
Roo is Carlie’s sister’s husband (Carlie is my fiancé). I met him years ago, and once during an off Fourth of July I decided to randomly post a “Hey it’s Roo Day!” on the website. It stuck, and even better people got involved. People sent him an email or two congratulating him for Roo Day.
But why even celebrate this guy? Why doesn’t anyone else have a holiday? Roo carries several merits for his own day, which include:
- Being the best man in my wedding.
- Being awesome.
- Sharing my first beer with me.
- Being featured in the game Tage Rampage, as a “Roo Bat.”
Least I can do is give him a blog post on my website once a year.
So thanks for being awesome, and everyone have a good Fourth! Be safe.
