I really wanted to go to a National Park this weekend, but the closest one, Channel Islands National Park, is actually in the ocean. That makes it slightly hard to get to. So I got the initiative to travel a long distance to visit a National Park for the weekend and went to Joshua Tree National Park. That’s in the California desert!
I traveled 2 hours to get there and got there around 10 am. I spent the entire day hiking and taking photography. I was so tired when I was done! It was about 90 degrees the entire day, so as far as desert goes it was a good temperature. It also helped that there was plenty of breeze.
I took roughly 450 pictures that day, so there are plenty of pictures to go around. Granted, I reduce my galleries to about 25% of what I take but it’s a DSLR so the digital extras are just backed up.
As far as things that I found, there were so many interesting things to take pictures of this time. Some of my favourite things were the vehicle above and the blossoming desert plants, such as the one below:
