Today, I went into a store and got a 44oz cup of soda. It nearly takes two hands to carry it.Soda is essentially sugar, flavor, and water. It’s amazing that its so addicting, but I consume way too much of it. I tried other things like apple juice and orange juice, but I usually will float back to the soda after a few weeks. A good smoothie fills me too much, so I usually won’t go in that direction.I made the executive decision that I would no longer buy soda that require two hands to carry. I think it’s a healthy choice we all need to make, in a society where KFC has a half-gallon bucket of soda.

It’s funny how these things happen. I am enrolled in 5 classes this quarter, which means I am getting paper jammed, literally. Three history classes are terrible, especially when they are all upper-division.It’s less on an issue that I have to write 5-6 page papers about American History, but it’s a huge issue for me when they line them up day after day. I had a 6 page paper due yesterday, and a 5 page paper due today. It’s like they planned it or something! In better news, the sun is out, and will be through the Street Painting festival in Napa. I’ll be participating this year, drawing a scene from Bitey of Brackenwood for Newgrounds.com. I’ll post more information tomorrow, but I am getting really excited about getting to work.-John

I’m getting sort of fed up with the internet being such a hostile place. There are two major issues going on that hurt my head whenever I log on.First is the VT Shooting game. If you don’t know the story, an Australian Flash producer by the name of PigPen created a game emulating the killing spree at Virginia Tech. Taking the role as the shooter, you run around the campus shooting up victims and other sort of tasks.People have gotten so riled up in keeping the game online, that it has turned into a “Freedom of Speech” issue. As much as I love freedom of speech, no one has really explained to me what the heck we are preserving by keeping this game up. We are not saving any free speech, and there was no clear message stemming from this game. The author admittedly made the game to “piss people off”, and even set up a paypal account for people to donate to. At $3,000, the game would be taken off with full apology. It seems like people are going to be willing to jump on to the “Freedom of Speech” wagon just because it’s a fight. It doesn’t matter that they believe in it… it is just a fight they want to be part of. Since when was the internet so made for bullies? And the Halo 3 beta release, which never happened due to some technical problems, is making sad as well. Bungie was supposed to launch the Halo beta today, but couldn’t due to some glitches in the system. They postponed the launch to tomorrow or a further date. In return, the public’s response was “BUNGIE FAILED US” or “RUINED THE ENTIRE HALO FRANCHISE”. It’s a beta guys! If this was a game launch, I could understand. But its a beta test! The world is not over because of it.Could we possibly route the anger of the internet towards riots of happiness? Since when was the internet a negativity dump for everyone? Do people really act this way in life?I would love it if everyone just calmed down for day.

Great news for Luminara. The game has quickly become the most popular jmtb02 game ever, even above Ball Revamped 4! Just by the sheer amount of traffic, the game has been doing fantastic. It’s been featured several times already in different places:* DeviantArt.com Daily Deviation* Newgrounds.com Daily Feature + Weekly Fourth* Kongregate.com #1 Weekly* Review by Casual Gameplay* Review by FreeGamesNews* Featured on Wired blog* DUGG!Thanks to everyone for the huge support on this game!!! It’s nice to know that a flash developer can be recognized for his work. I guess I have to dump all this love back onto you guys. Thanks so much for the support! The Blog is now working, so check it out! :)

As you may or may not of noticed, the jmtb02 studios website has been redone. This change started when I received several complaints about the previous site layout. The previous site was not compatible with multiple browsers, or was it dial-up friendly. The website would take nearly 20-30 seconds to load on slower internet connections. This new page is different. Loaded with tons of features but still being light of graphics and layout, it’s a lot nicer to look at. The lighter colors make the text stand out more, and the page system allows for CSS coding, which will allow for future changes to happen without an entire rewrite of the page. While under some criticism that it’s “too plain”, the site comes at a point in time when I need a lot of time to work on Flash and not on websites. With a website that’s easy to manage, I’ll be a lot better off to explore the far reaches of the dreaded Flash 9.-John
